About Evan

It all started in the classroom, where Evan watched his students navigate the daily tug-of-war between learning and digital distraction. Every time he shared an educational video, his students faced a gauntlet of recommended cat videos, trending dances, and "you might also like" suggestions—none of which had anything to do with the day's lesson. As an educator who believed in both the power of technology and the importance of student wellbeing, he knew there had to be a better way to share videos without turning every lesson into a battle for attention.

This classroom challenge sparked the creation of Modestly, a solution that would give teachers what they'd been wishing for: a way to share content that actually puts learning first. Evan built a platform that combines school branding with distraction-free viewing, creating digital learning spaces where students can focus without being tempted by viral videos. What started as one teacher's mission to protect student attention has grown into a tool that schools nationwide use to transform educational content into true learning experiences—proving that sometimes the best educational solutions come from the classroom itself.
